People are not stockpiling the goods that are most commonly unavailable. For example, while nearly four in five respondents struggled to find toilet paper, less than a quarter stockpiled it. At the same time, less than one in ten struggled to find legumes and pulses but a third of the sample admitted to stockpiling these goods. Of course, to be stockpiled, goods have to be on the shelves in the first place… Are supermarkets still grappling with the large-scale stockpiling of some goods that took place in the initial days of the outbreak? Would you stockpile toilet paper if you could? Take the survey and let us know!
